Fenway Porchfest

Music Everywhere, Porches Optional: Fenway Porchfest, June 15th
The Fenway Porchfest organizing committee invites all to attend a day of free music at Fenway Porchfest, June 15th, from noon to 4:30 p.m. (Rain date: June 16th)

Performances will take place at nearly 40 sites, with over 80 musical acts across the East and West Fenway. Locations range from the Verb Hotel and Ramler Park in the West Fenway to Symphony Hall and the Symphony Road Community Gardens in the East Fenway. A map, schedule, and full list of performers will be posted at http://www.fenwayporchfest.org in early June.

Fenway Porchfest was conceived to promote local artists and the Fenway neighborhood through a community-wide, community-driven festival. Our goal is to increase connectivity between residents and the arts, highlight local talent, and build on existing cultural programming through a free, grassroots music festival.
Fenway performers will include: The Dave Ehle Trio, The Fensgate Chamber Players, The Sprained Ankles, The Neighbors, Jillian Ann, The George Rhoads Jazz Group, and many more!

Fenway Porchfest is coordinated by the Fenway Alliance, Fenway Community Development Corporation, and Fenway Civic Association, with generous support from the Mission Hill/Fenway Neighborhood Trust, The Hamilton Company Charitable Foundation, and the City of Boston. We thank the numerous ‘porch’ owners, the city, volunteers, and the incredibly talented performers who make this event possible.

Performers:
You have three amazing acts – please use the following information to promote their performances

12:00 – 1:30 p.m. Amandla
Amandla, a human rights activist and R&B groove performer loves using her music to fight for a cause and bringing the crowd to life. Her current project, Explicit Mind, centers around mental health awareness and all that that endows. Amandla is a current Berklee student and active performer in the Boston community.
1:30 – 3:00 p.m. JP Honk Band
We are a community brass band based in Jamaica Plain. Members range from 10 to 70 in age, and come from varied backgrounds. We play at community events, street fairs and parades, always engaging the audience to dance, sing, and join the fun!
3:00 – 4:30 p.m. Eva Sita
My name is Eva Sita, born in the motherland, Cote d’Ivoire, West Africa. As I reached my 10th year of existence, I became a refugee. I had to leave my home country because of the civil war and moved to Paris in 2004 with nothing but the dress I was wearing and my teddy bear. I started producing beats at a young age but always thought that I couldn’t sing. As time passed I started singing, learned how to play the Kora, a traditional African string instrument, and classical piano. I’m currently attending the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston, majoring in Professional Music. I see myself as a self-produced artist – performing, singing and dancing, always working hard to achieve my dream.
