Soon after the first flowering shrubs have put on a show for spring, it’s time to tend to faded blooms with a thorough pruning to prepare for next year. The Tame Those Spring Bloomers Pruning Workshop will be held on Saturday, June 3rd (10am-12pm). Led by certified arborist Jen Kettell, gardeners will receive hands-on instruction on proper pruning techniques, appropriate tools, and a hands-on demo on those shrubs and vines that bloom in spring (e.g., lilacs, azalea, forsythia, rhododendron, wisteria and more). Pruning in June before new buds appear will encourage more abundant growth next year. The workshop is free and open to all FGS members.
Pre-registration is required so please sign up early - first come, first served!
